Your Best Selling Item

Filed under: Craft Show Tips — Chris @ 7:03 pm

We all have our favorite item that we make, use or can identify with the most.  What is your favorite item that you can just sell the hell out of?

Is that because you can talk about it better than the other items, or do you gravitate to that item first when someone is looking at your stuff?

New projects

Filed under: Craft Show Tips — Chris @ 8:23 pm

Every once in a while we have to try something new.  I mean there is so many neat ideas coming out every day.  Some of the crafters I see on MySpace and Etsy as sooooo talented, I have to try new things too.

One thing I am working on is crocheting.  My mom taught me years ago, but I have not done this for Ages.  So long in fact that I had to get a beginning crocheting book to re teach myself.  But it hasn’t taken long to get back in the swing of it.

I am working on something easy right now, a scarf, and soon I am moving on to blankets.  I love yummy, heavy lap blankets and that is what I am going to focus on.

What is your new craft for the month?

Getting ready for next year

Filed under: Craft Show Tips — Chris @ 10:05 am

It’s the time of year that we tend to sit down and reflect on what we did right this year or what we can improve on for the new year.  Getting a journal and keeping track of your shows and progress with merchandise will help define your business.

How are you going to evolve your craft business this coming year?  Are you going to change it, increase the amount of product or decrease the amount of product?

Are you going to tighten your focus/product line or increase your line carefully?

How are you going to market it better?  What can you do to market it better?  We will talk about that soon.

All of these questions are what you should be thinking about and working on for your new year.

Happy 2008!
